3D Mario discussion
Basically I just wanna get you guys' thoughts and ideas of what may change and what will make this 3D Mario stand apart from the others. Do you think they'll stay with the "Galaxy" theme and if not what theme would you like the game to be based around? I don't know about anyone else but i'm really REALLY excited for this 3D Mario being made.

New Super Mario World. You start out in the peaches castle hub from Mario 64 after she invites you over to admire her "New Paintings". From the hub Mario finds himself in all new 3D stages designed after the Mario 64 stages. But it gets better, after completing a number of stages and different stars Bowser kidnaps the princess (again), and places a huge barrier around Peach's Castle that only after collecting all of the stars from the painting would the barrier dispel. Then (and this is where shit gets crazy) after going through the gate (as seen in the beginning of Super Mario Galaxy) The player finds themselves having to go through numerous stages like the ones in 2D Mario until they reach the end of the "World" in which another 3D Mario hub awaits for you to collect more stars or shine sprites or whatever.

That sounds really good. I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't done this yet. Me personally I have no idea what they'll do with the game theme wise but I know for sure it'll be good. One thing im excited for though (and i never usually care about this) is the way it'll look graphically. Like just thinking of how even Galaxy would completely re-done in full HD is awesome. I just really can't wait.MBParadox wrote:New Super Mario World. You start out in the peaches castle hub from Mario 64 after she invites you over to admire her "New Paintings". Amazing art style plus great graphical fidelity. I just want to imagine what the lighting and shading would look like

Re: 3D Mario discussion
EXACTLY. I don't know why but when I was looking at Mario Chase from Nintendo Land and I noticed how good the water looked and the lighting and everything and I was just like I cannot wait for this 3D Mario to come. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it

I think the art style may look better than Mario Chase though.

Re: 3D Mario discussion
Oh yeah obviously but i'm just thinking that if this art style looks nice then imagine what the 3D Mario will look like. I know this is next to impossible but I've always thought of a mature Mario

If you've ever seen fan art of a realistic Mario just... dear god the game would be more horrifying than silent hill.

Lmao I have and that's why I need to somehow get these ideas out my head. But anyways back on topic I'm still thinking of ways they'll use the gamepad. It really depends on the direction they go with the game.

I think the gamepads different aspects will be used for different power ups.

Hopefully they go the NSMB route or Mario 3D Land and put power ups on the gamepad to save extra power ups when they're not needed.

I hope they have FLUDD from Super Mario Sunshine. That thing gave you so many more things to do with your jumps and stuff. Loved that game!

Fludd was an interesting idea, but not a staple one.

I really liked the F.L.U.D.D. but I think it's one of those one time shots. I dunno maybe Miyamoto could pull off using it in another Mario game as a main gameplay function.

When I think 3D Mario I think Mario 64, Super Mario sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2. when it came Super Mario side scroll games It was better off in Pixelated form.

I'm just excited to see what they do next. I do hope for a cinematic feel like the Galaxy series. (The cut scenes)
Whatever they do will probably be good. They usually do the best with the 3D Mario games.

Yeah same here. I just want them to go with a different theme and have it still be really good. And maybe even a different story too

Super Mario Galaxy 2 was a lot less cinematic than the first one. I hope they bring back that feel.

Re: 3D Mario discussion
SMG 1 and 2 were some of the greatest games made EVER. But it would still benefit the series to come up with another new idea.
Agreed. That was literately the only thing I even remotely disliked about that game.

I literally don't even mind that they keep using the Peach gets stolen by Bowser story. As long is they do what they have done in all of the console 3D Marios and have a side story.
Wouldn't mind having the Koopalings make their 3D Mario debut.
