Telltale's Zombie Apocalyspe Game: The Love and The Hate


When it comes to Zombie Apocalypse, what's the first thought in your head? First person shoot-em-up where you desperately need to get from point A to point B while grabbing a bottle of pills? or a 3rd person Horror where you are solving puzzles in a police station in Raccoon City? When it comes to The Walking Dead Game, None of those thoughts actually fit towards the gameplay and storyline of Telltales Zombie interactive game.

The Walking Dead is an episodic role-playing adventure game based on Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead comic book series for iOS, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It consists of 5 Episodes that were intended to be released monthly, but it just so happens it never did work that way.

You are Lee Everret; a former History college professor, soon turned into a convicted murderer due to killing a State Senator for sleeping with his wife.




As you are being taken to prison a Walker caused the patrol car Lee was in fall into a cliff. This is
Where the story begins.

During the game you come to meet a young girl named Clementine, which soon grows a bond with Lee like a Father/Daughter bond.


Here are my Love and Hates (Please note it is just my opinion)

Episode 1: A New Day

The Love: The first episode to start it all, Story develops pretty well and when the
gameplay starts, it starts with some action. As the story in this episode progresses you meet some
characters that will prove vital in future episodes. These characters are well introduced and the Voice acting is impressive.

The Hate: There will be some moments in the game where bugs tend to give you the usual "WTF" moments. In my experience I had Clementine teleport from one side of the room to the other. If she had those powers, why didn't she teleport to her parents? but of course, in the end it's just an annoying bug. Another thing is that the characters sometimes will act Bipolar. You can talk to them and they will be like nice friends, talk to them again and get your head cussed out, this sometimes happens when you make random decisions that would make a character act bipolar towards you.

Overall Episode Grade: A+

Being the first episode you need to have a "hook" just to grab players attentions, and I could tell you this episode will hook you into wanting to play more!

Episode 2: Starved for Help

The Love: The Action, The Gore, The Tensions, need I say more? This episode brings a lot to the table (but not for our survivors, get it? starved for help? ...anyone?) In this episode you get introduced to new members for your survival crew, you will lose members of your survival crew. and you will be able to go against Humans and Walkers. Story is pretty intense and gory.

The Hate Some minor bugs, but in my views there is nothing wrong with this episode.

Overall Episode Grade: A+Over9000

Hands down it's my favorite episode to date! The story was full of twists, action, and moments where you wanted to stand up and say "F%&k Yeah!" So of course you will be anxious to play more!

Episode 3: Long Road Ahead

The Love:: Starts with action, then following up with a mystery, then more action. Introducing new characters. and a certain someone learns how to shoot a gun, last but not least, they finally made it to Savannah!

The Hate: A lot of disappointing moments, disappointing storyline, Over exaggerated numbers of death and group broken down to half. Story was slow after the action moments. Horrible Lip Sync, Poor Ending.

Overall Episode Grade: C-

After waiting like 2 months we would expect to get something epic, but pretty much what I had was a stale episode that made me facepalm throughout most the episode.

C'mon TellTales! 2 months and this? I was hyped for this episode only to be disappointed? It's like saying that we won a Ferrari but you give us a Ford.

Anyways, The episode was ok-ish ill give them that.


When Episode 4 comes out I will also review it.
