Re: Retro Gaming
I love retro gaming. Growing up, I went through all of Nintendo's major consoles, as well as the PS1. My mom ended up giving away my NES, SNES, and PS1 though, so my collection is much smaller than it used to be. I also gave my GameCube away to my sister when I left home since I can play all my GameCube favorites on my Wii.
I also used to emulate a lot of NES, SNES, GBC, and GBA games, but I decided I'd rather actually start building up my collection. It'll be fun, especially since a retro game shop opened about 5 minutes from where I live.
My current collection consists of...
-Wii (GCN-compatible model)
-Xbox 360 (phat model)
-PlayStation 2 (phat model, no games yet)
-Game Boy Color (girlfriend's, poor condition)
-Game Boy Advance (original)
-3DS (girlfriend's)
-3DS XL (mine)
You can check the backloggery link in my signature to see my full collection of games.

Yeah I used to emulate. When I could not find a game for cheap and/or did not have the system, but I still would buy old games. Now I don't really emulate all that much. unless it's something that I would have to import. I realized that there is something about owning a physical cart or case that makes it more special and it also make me feel like I own the game instead of having roms
still very nice collection :D

Re: Retro Gaming
I'm just glad we're still seeing retro-styled games from certain companies and indie developers, and they're great. Games like Mega Man 9 and 10, New Super Mario Bros, Kirby's Return to Dream Land, Mutant Mudds, and Fractured Soul.Shokio wrote:Retro gaming - Back when developers weren't being punk-ass muthafucka's.

The retro game that I am most addicted to is my copy of Tengen Tetris. I have several 2600 games that i play on my 7800. I have been trying to find games locally for my N64 but its been pretty slim pickings.

Since my sister purchased a PSX a while back I'm probably going to borrow it and buy MGS1.

If you have a Gamecube or a Wii I'd highly recommend you buying MGS: The Twin Snakes over the PSX version.

I will more than likely buy both since they both have their different quirks. The Real Riggz wrote:MBParadox wrote:Since my sister purchased a PSX a while back I'm probably going to borrow it and buy MGS1.

You're lucky enough to have one near you, and one that has those retro games.ImmaGamerGuy wrote:I visit flea markets and get good deals on Original GameBoy games and Snes. I got enough NES
